Overworked, underpaid and traumatized. Health care workers around the world have borne the worst of the coronavirus pandemic. From the constant threat of infection to the daily onslaught of death. The toll has left many disillusioned and in need of urgent help themselves.
“Risking their lives to help others survive.” That’s the title of a revealing and disturbing survey among healthcare workers who say during this pandemic they face harassment and violence because of their profession. What’s wrong with us, with society, to attack those who put their lives at risk to help and care for others?

In December 2019 the Chinese authorities notified the world that a virus was spreading through their communities. In the following months it spread to other countries, with cases doubling within days. This virus is the βSevere acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2β, that causes the disease called COVID19, and that everyone simply calls Coronavirus.
